The festival presents many volunteer opportunities that may be of interest to you. The main areas consist of Snacks, Rides, Food, Parking and Crowd Control. These roles are not set in stone and still require further confirmation but please let us know if you have a preference based on your skill set. The gathering is also the full Eid day so volunteers will have to indicate their availability. Our team will try its very best to accommodate all of such requests.
This station has multiple options such as popcorn, cotton candy, and loot bag vending. In past years the popcorn and cotton candy were made fresh by volunteers as per instructions by staff. This role typically has two people per station but is subject to change based on numbers.
This station is one of the busiest in which breakfast and lunch sales take place. From pizza to Popeyes every year is different and requires someone with good communication skills and fast paced service. This station typically has a larger number of volunteers due to the demand. Breakfast will begin service around 9:00 am so volunteers would need to be there a little prior to that.
This station requires a lot of patience as it deals with a lot of the children at the festival. These volunteers need to be able to manage the time in which children are on the rides while keeping the line moving. This role typically has two people per station but is subject to change based on numbers. For many years this station has been the most demanding for volunteers and requires a significant amount of patience. Older volunteers are preferred.
There are 4 prayers planned for 8:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:00 am and 11:00 am. These volunteers would be required to aid in setup with prayer mats and helping collect donation via given boxes. Setup would need to be prior to prayer so volunteers would need to be there earlier than the first prayer.
This station is still not confirmed but may be needed at the festival this year. Such a role would consist of managing the parking lots and guide the audience for the available parking spots in order to ease the traffic and help people to reach the prayer on time.
This station is still not confirmed but may be needed at the festival this year. Such a role would consist of walking around each of the other stations and making sure the lines are moving and that the crowd aren't skipping the lines. This role is also meant for an older volunteer and someone with good communication skills to be able to manage the crowds.
Our team will reach out inshallah with more details surrounding a potential virtual or in-person meeting prior to the festival to discuss roles and responsibilities. For that reason please keep an eye out for an email or call.
This festival is still on Eid so it is meant to be enjoyed by not only the participants but you as a volunteer as well. The event cannot be run without you guys so we look forward to building an amazing team to support the gathering this year. May Allah SWT reward you for taking this time for his sake and supporting our Muslim community.
