For over 25 years, the Muslim Association of Canada has been at the forefront of celebrating Eid in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) by organizing the city’s largest Eid Festival. This annual event has been a cornerstone for community gathering and celebration.
As we look forward to Eid-ul-Fitr in the year 2024-1445, we regret to inform our community that, this year, we are unable to host our traditional Eid festival.
The challenge of finding an appropriate venue in Toronto that can accommodate our expansive Muslim community has led to this difficult decision. The dates for Eid change every year, adding to the complexity of securing a suitable location.
Despite this, we are committed to ensuring that the tradition and obligation of Eid prayer is observed and celebrated within our community.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce that Eid prayers will be conducted at a few locations including Masjid Toronto (both locations) in Toronto, Islamic Community Centre of Ontario in Mississauga, and in an arranged indoor location in Oakville.
These prayers will take place on April 10, 2024, which corresponds to the 1st of Shawwal 1445
